April 2010 Update: The popularity of this park has increased dramatically in the past year. While it is not as busy as others, it has definitely taken off, and increased in status from it’s relatively unknown, and low use days of the past.
Tucked away in Woodbury, the Dale Road Open Space Off Leash park is a low key place to take your dog. In our visits, there are only a handful of other dogs there if any. This one is a little tricky to find, and just a hint – it’s easier to find if you go south on Woodbury Drive (past Bailey Rd), then drive east on dale road – as that is the only way the wooden signs indicating the turn for the park face. You will have to drive down the gravel road to get here.

The last time I visited (early April 2010) the sign was down as it looks like they did some landscaping on either side of the driveway in. This park is hard to find with the sign up! Just look for the pines lining the drive, and don’t be alarmed that it looks like a private drive is what I tell my dog owning friends.
Also note – the sign faces west, so it’s easiest to find when you’re driving east on Dale Road. If you come in from Manning (the east) driving west, look for the first gravel road on the right (to the north) – you’ll see the sign on the east side of the drive way – there is a house across Dale Road (to the south) of the sign for the dog park, for reference.
