Also note - the sign faces west, so it's easiest to find when you're driving east on Dale Road. If you come in from Manning (the east) driving west, look for the first gravel road on the right (to the north) - you'll see the sign on the east side of the drive way - there is a house across Dale Road (to the south) of the sign for the dog park, for reference.

Kerry is right, car break ins are a frequent occurrence here, no matter how many other cars are in the lot, or the time of the day - don't leave valuables - thieves target anything remotely resembling value: backpacks, purses, GPS, iPods. Best bet, empty your car.

Other then that, it is a nice park, with a few trails to walk around.

The dog park portion of the park is now completely fenced in. There are two or three swamps. There are parking lots on both Upper and Lower Afton Roads. Each parking lot is fairly close to either of the popular open areas with picnic benches. There are some car break-ins in the lot. I am not sure what time of day they are occurring.

The last time I visited (early April 2010) the sign was down as it looks like they did some landscaping on either side of the driveway in. This park is hard to find with the sign up! Just look for the pines lining the drive, and don't be alarmed that it looks like a private drive is what I tell my dog owning friends.

Hi Joyce, I don't have any exact measurements, I have only been to this park a few times. If remember correctly, there is a parking lot, that feeds into the dirt/grass trails that lead you back into the park.

Sorry you had troubles finding it. Do you have any suggestions you can leave for others that may make it easier for them to find it in the future? Thanks for the info!

How long is the paved trail beginning from Lexington Ave going West until the trail ends along the "frontage" road of 35W?
The park was difficult to locate not knowing the name.
Thank you for your assistance with the information on the trail.
